What does getting a good rosin yield depend on?
Not all flowers yield the same under the press. The factors that have the most influence are:
Trichome density and glandular head size: the volume of available resin directly determines the yield. A dense coverage of trichomes with large heads is the most reliable indicator.
Bud structure: compact, hard buds retain resin better and respond better to pressing than looser or more open ones.
Terpene profile: what you smell in flower concentrates in the rosin. Strains with marked, complex profiles produce extracts with greater organoleptic expression.
Condition and moisture of the material: regardless of the strain, the material should reach the press with a relative humidity of between 55% and 62%. A bud that is too dry absorbs part of the resin before it comes out.
Freshness of the material: the yield and color of the rosin don't depend only on the strain, but on how much time has passed since harvest. Fresh material in good condition gives more quantity and better quality within the expected ranges; an old flower produces a darker extract with less terpene expression, even if the genetics are the same.

Practical tips for pressing cannabis
Moisture of the material
Keep the buds between 55% and 62% relative humidity before pressing. The moisture point weighs more on the final result than the bag micron size itself: material that is too dry can reduce the yield by half or less, whatever the strain. Humidity control packs are the simplest way to adjust it. Bag micron size
For flower straight from these strains, 90 or 120 micron bags usually give the best balance between yield and cleanliness of the extract. If instead you start from bubble hash or iceolator made with the same genetics (taking advantage, for example, of the resin density of Zombie Bride or Eyeballz), go down to 25 or 37 microns. Temperature and pressure
Our breeders work these strains in a range of 60-70°C. At higher temperatures, the extract loses terpenes and gains darkness, so if the temperature is raised it's worth compensating by also reducing the pressing time. The pressing is applied progressively, not all at once, and once maximum pressure is reached it is held for about 30 seconds at most. Mistakes that reduce yield
Even with the right strain, a poorly executed pressing wastes resin. The most common mistakes, such as excess material in the bag, pressing times that are too long or irregular temperature on the plate, are gathered in common mistakes when making rosin at home, a quick review before pressing any of these genetics.
