Full programme: exhibitors, Champions Cup, C-Days and conferences. Spannabis 2026 comes to the BEC in Bilbao on 17, 18 and 19 April. We cover everything you need to know: exhibitors, Champions Cup, World Cannabis Conference, C-Days and the confirmed artists for this new chapter.
Spannabis is more than a trade fair; it is one of the world's most important gathering points for the cannabis industry. After closing a record-breaking 2025 edition with over 25,000 visitors and professionals from 50 different nationalities, the event arrives in Bilbao in 2026 as an unmissable landmark for understanding where the sector is heading globally — from genetics to cultivation technology.
Why Spannabis is moving to Bilbao in 2026
The Fira de Cornellà had been Spannabis's home since its inaugural edition in 2002. In 2026, that changes: the venue is scheduled for demolition and there is no alternative in Barcelona with the capacity to host a fair of this scale. The move makes sense beyond the logistical. The Basque Country has a cannabis community with its own deep-rooted tradition and structure — social clubs, cultivation culture and a long history of activism — and the BEC offers the infrastructure Spannabis needs to keep growing.
The organisers have chosen the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), one of the largest and most modern exhibition venues in Europe. The result is edition XXIII — the first ever held outside Catalonia in the event's entire history.
Spannabis 2026: trade fair, competition and conferences
The event at the BEC is built around three main pillars that run concurrently throughout the weekend: the trade fair, the competition and the conferences.
Exhibitor area
The exhibition floor covers virtually the entire spectrum of the sector: seed banks, fertiliser and substrate companies, lighting and cultivation system brands, paraphernalia distributors, medical cannabis and CBD companies, and — with a growing presence — technology firms focused on cultivation. There is also space for associations and collectives. In total, over 300 international exhibitors and around 3,900 accredited professionals.
Seed banks tend to save Spannabis for their most significant launches of the season: varieties not yet in catalogue, exclusive genetics, or releases being announced to the industry for the very first time. For anyone who follows the world of genetics closely, the exhibitor floor is a genuine opportunity to see and smell new products before they reach the market.
On Sunday, the fair presents the Spannabis Awards, recognising the best exhibitors of the year across categories such as best seed bank, best nutrient, best cultivation product, best vaporiser and best stand, among others.

World Cannabis Conference (15th edition)
The fifteenth edition of the World Cannabis Conference takes place across all three days of the fair in the conference hall of the Spannabis pavilion, running alongside the commercial activity. The format combines talks and round tables with open audience participation. This edition's topics cover activism and rights, political regulation, medical cannabis, CBD and psychedelics.
This edition's programme covers cannabis activism and rights, political regulation in Spain, medical cannabis and access to medicines, the CBD market and psychedelics. Confirmed speakers include parliamentarians, specialist lawyers, researchers and patients. Noteworthy sessions include: the Aythami Santana case — five years in prison for chairing a cannabis association —, a panel on access to cannabis-derived medicines featuring Dr Guillermo Moreno (Khiron Sciences), and a practical talk on how to audit CBD products, delivered by Jorge Soto, CEO of Ananda Lab.
You can find the World Cannabis Conference speaker programme and schedule on its official website.
Spannabis Champions Cup — 20th edition
The Spannabis Champions Cup is Europe's benchmark cannabis competition: growers and clubs submit product samples that are subjected to laboratory analysis before being evaluated by a specialist jury. The usual categories cover different types of flower, concentrates and extractions, with additional awards for analytical parameters such as cannabinoid content. In 2026 it reaches its twentieth edition, sponsored by Athena, and revives the per-category VIP jury format that defined its early editions.
The awards ceremony takes place on Friday 17 April at 19:00 in the conference area of the BEC. For growers and genetics enthusiasts alike, it is one of the weekend's must-see moments: a real-time barometer of which varieties and profiles are setting the trends in the sector.

C-Days 2026, the professional event from CannabisHUB
On Wednesday 16 April, one day before Spannabis opens, Bilbao hosts the fifth edition of C-Days at the Bizkaia Aretoa of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The event is organised by Cannabis Hub. The profile is entirely different from the fair: no stands, no music, no general public. C-Days is a working day for industry professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs, structured around talks and round tables.
C-Talks
The talks programme covers four main areas and will run from 10:00 to 11:30 and from 15:00 to 16:30.
Legislation and economics. Erika Santana, Federal Deputy in Mexico, will analyse the legislative proposal on industrial hemp and its impact on agriculture, the economy and sustainability. Arnau Valdovinos, from Cannabis Monitor, will present data on the true size of the cannabis economy in Spain.
Science and genomics. Dr Davoud Torkamaneh, from Laval University, will speak on precision genomics applied to cannabis consistency and quality. David Aransay Esteve, CEO of ION+ Industries, will present the physical principles and direct applications of electrostatic trichome separation.
Innovation and technology. Oussama Badad, CSO of Trilogene Seeds, will outline the role of triploid F1 seeds as a solution for the global supply chain. Stefan Meyer, CEO of PhytoFlow GmbH, will address the stigma surrounding cannabis in artificial intelligence systems and its impact on research.
Health and the future of cultivation. Paula Unzueta, from UPV, will explore the therapeutic use of medical cannabis in mental health disorders. Dominique Van Gruisen, CEO of Innexo BV, will offer a forward-looking perspective on cannabis cultivation in 2030. Marc Costa, from Biobizz, will discuss an organic vision of pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis. Scott Schmidt, from Emerald Village West Hollywood, will close the block with a talk on cannabis visibility and normalisation.
C-Roundtables
Three round tables will take place from 11:30 to 13:00 and from 16:30 to 18:00, each with designated moderators and participants:
Medical Cannabis — Moderated by José Luis Baker Tilly, with the participation of Koldo Callado (Director of Scientific and Social Development at UPV/EHU), Carola Pérez (We the Patients) and Iker Val (CEO of Sovereign Fields).
CBD and Hemp — Moderated by Bernardo Soriano (S&F Abogados), with Giacomo Bulleri (EIHA), Isidre Carballido (CEO of Cannactiva) and Francesco Mirizzi (EIHA Director).
Psychedelics — Moderated by Santiago Ongay (Full Canopy), with Xavier Nadal (EthnoPhytoTech) and Marc Aixalà (ICEERS). This session addresses the regulation of psilocybin at the international level and within the Spanish legal framework.
For anyone working in the sector — whether in cultivation, distribution, research or activism — C-Days can be just as relevant as the three days of the fair itself: the UPV/EHU setting lends institutional weight, and the format allows for face-to-face debate with scientists and senior executives in an environment where the barriers between speakers and audience almost entirely disappear.

Music: three days of sound system and Basque scene
Spannabis has always had a distinctive musical identity — reggae, dub, dancehall, hip hop, drum & bass — and this edition has one detail worth noting: virtually all the confirmed artists are from the Basque Country or the north of Spain. Quick guide for your first Spannabis
Spannabis is not a free-access event: proof of age is required at the door, so bring your ID card or passport. Once inside, the experience feels closer to a professional trade fair than a festival: there are stands where you can examine products, speak directly with manufacturers and pick up samples, alongside conference areas and a live music stage all running in parallel.
The atmosphere is calmer in the mornings — when trade professionals predominate — and busier from midday onwards. If you're going for one day only, Saturday tends to have the most activity. If you want to catch the Champions Cup, that's Friday evening. And if the professional side interests you, the C-Days on the preceding Wednesday are an entirely different kind of day and well worth considering separately.
On-site facilities. Outside the pavilion, the BEC has chill-out areas to relax between stand visits and conference sessions, along with food trucks offering a varied selection. A great option for eating outdoors without leaving the venue and recharging before heading back in.
Ripper Seeds at Spannabis 2026
After 23 years at the Fira de Cornellà, leaving Barcelona brings a twinge of nostalgia. There have been so many editions, memories and shared moments in what has been our home since 2002. That said, change tends to bring fresh energy, and the move to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre has us genuinely excited.
The Basque Country has a vibrant cannabis culture, and we can't wait to see how the public responds to this historic first edition in the north. Needless to say, Ripper Seeds wouldn't miss such a special occasion for anything.
We look forward to seeing you at stand 210!
