Rosin Tech

Whether because of the speed with which we obtain our extraction or because we do not use any type of solvent, Rosin tech has become one of the best known extraction techniques in the world of concentrates. Rosin extraction is so simple that, in just a few minutes, we can taste the concentrate obtained from the extraction carried out. For this we need:

  • just a few grams of marijuana divided into small portions (0.2 g)
  • an iron to straighten the hair, a piece of parchment paper (parchment paper)
  • an oven mitt or similar to avoid burns
  • a dabber

Rosin tech extraction process

  1. In the extraction process using the Rosin tech technique, first of all, we will preheat the hair straightener and, while we wait, we will prepare pieces of parchment paper that will serve us to wrap the portions of bud that we already have prepared. < / li>
  2. Once the iron has reached the desired temperature we will introduce the previously wrapped buds between the plates of the iron and we will exert maximum pressure on the buds for a few seconds, causing their resin to become impregnated on the parchment paper with which they are wrapped and in contact.
  3. Finally, to correctly collect the Rosin from the paper, we will use a dabber or blade, in case we do not have a dabber. We will stick the material to the dabber very carefully and we will transfer it to an oil slick or another piece of clean greaseproof paper.

The Rosin tech method can also be a good method of taking advantage of low quality materials, turning them into a dabbeable material. For example, it allows us to make different passes of the same material or to use low-quality materials extracted with different methods, such as the material obtained in the higher-micron bubble hash meshes. In the case of using the material resulting from the higher micron bubble hash meshes, we will also need a piece of 25 micron mesh to retain the unwanted material. eye! It must be taken into account that both the temperature and the pressure time on the buds will determine, in part, the quality of our Rosin tech extraction, since the higher the temperature and the higher the pressure time the loss of terpenes. Below we show you an indicative relationship of the temperature and the pressure time most commonly used in this technique.

Temperature - Time

80º-90ºC 25-30 sec 100º-120ºC 15-20 sec 120º-130ºC 8-12 sec 130º-150ºC 4-6 sec

Extracting Rosin with Ripper Seeds:

To put this resin extraction technique into practice, we went to visit our Ripper Seeds team, who already had some excellent buds prepared for us Zombie Kush and others from Criminal + . It was not necessary to touch them for an intense earthy smell with pungent notes to flood us, something typical of some Kush phenotypes. With all the materials prepared and the plate preheated to a constant temperature of 110ºC we begin to press the plates of the plate. After 15 seconds we could observe a good return in the extraction, which was seen in small drops distributed by the sulphurized paper. Not using a very high temperature allowed us to safeguard all the terpenes present in the buds, which resulted in an excellent quality Rosin. We were also able to test the extraction with small portions of some other variety, which showed us that not all varieties are suitable for making Rosin , since under the same temperature, pressure and time patterns not all varieties varieties gave us the same amount of return, all having a high percentage of resin in the buds. There is still much to investigate around this technique, but without a doubt Rosin tech will mark a before and after.
